The other side of the world... Day 21 (Evening)

The spaghetti was a success!!  It turned out pretty good considering what I had to work with.  LOL  Even the bread turned out pretty yummy!
I’ve got to tell a silly story but those who have been here will totally be able to relate!  At the store today, I wanted to find some garlic powder.  Ok… go to the section of the store where the spices are… look for a bottle that looks like what just might be garlic powder.  No problem.  Then, I took my bottle to the produce section, found the fresh garlic, and compared the word on the label to the word on the sign for the fresh garlic.  Score!!  Hehe   Then, I wanted oregano.  None in the fresh section.  Couldn’t find it in the spices either by looking at pictures on packages.  Ok, Google… oregano… write out the translation… look again.  SCORE!  hehe   I could live here… well, I could shop here anyway.  LOL
Before I tell you about my boy’s cuteness today, I’ll tell you my stroller story.  The stroller, a nicer “umbrella” type stroller from Wal-mart, was given to us when I was pregnant for Olivia.  She is 4 now.   We used it till she didn’t need it anymore, and I put it out at a garage sale.  I think I marked it $5.  No takers.  No biggie.  Somehow it missed being taken to the Salvation Army with the rest of the unsold stuff.  No biggie.  Next garage sale, out it goes.  This time $3.  Still no takers!  Sheesh… do I have to really just give this thing away?  Ok, send everything to charity again.  A few days later I was pulling into the garage, and yep, you guessed, there was the stroller!   I would say that was like last fall.  Well, of course, this spring is when Timothy found us, and God decided to make him a part of our family.  Guess what is sitting in my room right now, just waiting for our trip through all of the airports with a little boy??  Yep, that same stroller.  God knew!!  He wouldn’t let me sell that silly stroller because He KNEW that I’d be needing it!!
So I mentioned yesterday that Timothy had learned to sign “more” and would do it on demand.  Today, I helped him eat his yogurt (ok, I fed it to him, I know what kind of mess this could be if I let him do it!).  After he was done with his yogurt, I gave him a cookie.  When it was time for another, I asked him if he wanted more.  I hadn’t signed it or anything, I was putting the yogurt cup in the trash bag.  I looked up as I was asking if he wanted more, and he SIGNED IT!!  NO prompt other than my asking if he wanted more!!  I am soooo proud!!!  I wish I could just show those people who think that my son is “unteachable”!!  HA!
Here’s some little boy cuteness!
One of the other moms that was there visiting brought these tiny little apples.  He loved it!!  They were very yummy!

I can open this door... especially if Mama isn't looking... I can... really... ok, maybe not...
This one was from yesterday, I brought him a little plastic slinky thing... he liked it for about 7 minutes... LOL

  1. We made spaghetti the other day, and were able to find basil, but took a chance on a spice called "estragon." It was definitely not right, and we weren't too happy to eat it for three days, as we made a lot. Still haven't figured out what the mystery spice was, as I can't get anything to translate it. Did find "oregan" though, and bought some, so next time we're prepared!

I *LOVED* the stroller story!!! What a neat testimony!!! You can never part with that stroller...because as I have told you my theory, hehe..Timothy isn't going to be your last child, LOL...I just have this feeling...I will proudly remind you when you share how you are adopting another child, hehe.
