The other side of the world... day 2

It is Wednesday afternoon. We just ventured out to the grocery store where Nico took us last night. It’s on the same street as our apartment, but we didn’t realize that it’s pretty much DOWNHILL from here until we were walking back UP! LOL I’m glad we didn’t need a lot of stuff, just a few things that we forgot last night. It really is beautiful outside, the perfect weather to walk places, if that makes sense. LOL

I know that I’m supposed to be homesick, and ready to get this process moving and ready to go home, etc., but I’m just really taking in the surroundings and this whole experience. I will admit that it is tough not being able to communicate at the grocery store, but we did ok. Everything we bought turned out to be what we thought it was, so I think we did OK! hehe And of course, I DO MISS my kids!!! Love you guys!!

We are in our apartment for a little while, waiting to call the kids before they go to school. We haven’t talked to them since we left home. We did call my mom yesterday to let her know we made it safely though.

Ok, I know that none of you really check in to hear me babble about how things are, you all want photos, sooooo… here are a few from yesterday and today. There will be plenty more coming, I assure you, and I can’t WAIT to meet up with everyone tonight and I’ll post photos of that event too.

Ok... not too sure what order they came out so I'll just tell you that all of the rooms are our apartment, the big tall building is our apt. building, and the street pic is the street out front, and the food ones, well, those are foods that we got at the store last night.

  1. ENJOY YOURSELF!! BE DIFFERENT.... Make it fun! It is an amazing adventure with so many memories. Have a great time enjoying your time with all the other families. Those meetings were PRECIOUS to us. As we go back and see pictures of those families NOW HOME with their kids - I can't help but cry. You will too. Precious reminders that GOD IS GOOD.
