I don't have any pics tonight, I'll catch up with them tomorrow. I promise Carrie. hehe
Timothy is still testing me, I think. He refuses to walk to and from the groupa, or up the stairs, or even when we are outside. It's not like he CAN'T he just WON'T. I have taken to walking away saying "Paka" (bye). It really doesn't work though. LOL He's stubborn, but I'm stubborner (hehe that's my new word). I'll win eventually, even if it's not till we are home.
One really exciting thing did happen today. I have been trying to teach him some of the common signs. Mama, Papa, more, thank you, please... etc. Today I brought him some pretzel sticks to munch. I gave him two at a time, and when he was finished, and ready for more, I showed him the sign for more, and he would do it. I also say it in English. After a little bit, I decided to see how he would respond if I didn't sign first. He tapped my leg, and made a face like, "hey, I'm waiting". I didn't respond. Then, as if a lightbulb clicked on, he signed "more". I was soooo excited!! I gave him his two sticks, and waited. Without prompting, as soon as he was finished, he signed "more" again!!! Now, tell me that this child is "unteachable". I think NOT!!
I got to talk to the kids tonight for a short time. We did "Facetime" with our iPods. So I actually got to see them for the first time in 3 weeks. Olivia was crying by the time we were done. I miss them so much. It was nice to see them though.
Ok... it's late... bedtime! More tomorrow!
Awwww, I was SOOO excited to see a blog from you..I figured it was too late and with moving and spending time with your son you missed at a day!!! But we will forgive you this one time for no pictures ( tee hee) man you sure are going to have a lot of pics to scrap with when you get home!!!
ReplyDeleteOK, I did have to chuckle...Timothy is a stinker and I can totally see him pushing you, hehe!! He is the pretzel king :) Sounds so awesome how fast he is learning. Whoever said these children are unteachable are unteachable themselves...such bright kids with so much potential ahead of them! Anyone who is blessed enough to adopt these cuties will soon realize how teachable they truly are!!!
I feel so blessed to have followed your journey this far and so excited to continue following it for a long time and see all the "Firsts" that you get to experience! Truly remarkeable!!!
