e hoped that we could cut expenses by cooking at “home” and walking to and from the orphanage. I just spoke to our facilitator, who is in region setting things up for us. She wasn’t able to get us an apartment, there are none available. So we will have a one room hotel room. No cooking allowed there though, so we’ll have to eat “out” everyday. Plus, it’s further away from the orphanage, so we’ll have to pay a driver for the trips (two round trips per day).
We were NOT planning for these expenses. I’m not sure I’ll have enough money.
Please pray that God takes care of us. I know that He has brought us this far, there is NO way He’ll let us down now.
ACK! how frustrating. God DOES have a plan. I have always wished I was in a financial position to write big checks whenever I saw a great need. How satisfying to have lots to share and bless others with . . . but until I win the lottery and can do that . . .I will pray like crazy! :) Love you Mel!!!!
ReplyDeletePraying.
ReplyDeleteOh Mel, that stinks. Will they be able to get you into someplaces else and closer later on possibly? Maybe your stay there in the hotel wil be short. Sending prayers!
ReplyDeleteMel, do I just donate on this page? I want you to get it NOW, where do I do this? I have also reached out for you on my fb page and personaly to a few of my friends that I thought could help you out! Love and Prayers

You can donate to the ChipIn on the right. It will go to our Paypal account. I have a Paypal CC that I can use at the grocery store or bank to get grivna.
ReplyDeleteI'll be praying Mel! You may have to "branch out" and ride the bus. Maybe you can have your facilitator help you figure out how to use it before they leave. Could you get one of those pots that heat up water and have instant oatmeal for breakfast? Or bring in just bread and ham and cheese for lunch and then go out for something hot at night? Just some ideas.
ReplyDeleteMel, I do not believe that I know you or your family, but a friend from high school (April Murders) posted your link on Facebook and that brought me to your page. Praying for your family and your little man! God never takes us places where his Grace, Mercy and Love does not cover us, so I will stand with you that your needs will be met!! Many Blessings to you and your family! Mindy Sherwood, Johnston, IA
ReplyDeletemel praying for you right now. trying to send some money your way but can't seem to get the chip in to work. perhaps im not doing something right. God would not bring you all that way just to disappoint you. this is really a good way to see God's greatness. The plan is still there.
ReplyDeleteGod is watching out. It's not a lot but I figure every penny counts. Keep us posted.
ReplyDeleteWe ate A LOT of bread Mel. It was cheap and filling. Just not fun is all ;)
ReplyDeleteThinking about you guys!
Oh Praying Mel!!!!
ReplyDeletePraying for you now.
ReplyDeleteHeavenly Father we know you did not send Mel and her husband there to the Ukraine to fail now. We know you have things all worked out. I pray they see you in the mist of their anguish and send who ever needs to be there for them as soon as possible. I pray they have the funds as not to feel hungry or without a safe place to reside in for the time they are there. You tell us you are by our side and you will never leave us, PLease show them you are there show them that you will always be faithful to your word.
We ask all of these things in Christ name. John 14:13 And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Son may bring glory to the Father.
'Amen
Much love Ann

WE had to stay in a hotel for a few days too. To cut down on costs you can get cups of noodles and packets of oatmeal. You can make sandwiches and eat pastries and drink coffee. We hardly ate out-- so be encouraged that you can do it too! Take care-- love your positive outlook!
