Tonight is my last night in the hotel. Thank you Lord!!! I am sleeping with earplugs in tonight because it’s Friday, which means lots of “noise”. I won’t miss the smokiness either! I’m looking forward to being able to wash my own clothes again too! Sick, isn’t it? Hehe I’m so grateful to Cathy & Tully for offering to let me stay with them. I didn’t realize how much I’d miss John when he left! Anyway, I’ll be moving in the morning.
I didn’t go to my evening visit today. I have had a headache for two days and it just really got to me today. I took a nap today, and then forced myself to get up and out for a little while. I went to the mall and got a set of tea cups as a gift for the Social Worker lady, a gift bag, a coloring book, a pad of blank paper, and above mentioned Snickers bar, all for only $86!! Oh, that’s grivna… $10.87 USD.
Being with the little Mr. DeLlanos (that’s got such a ring to it!) alone this morning, I didn’t really have a chance to take many pics. I will tell you though, he’s starting to push the limits a bit. When we went outside, he thought I needed to carry him all around. I didn’t think that was really such a good idea. Mean Mama! So, in protest, he sat on the ground, or laid down, which was met with no reaction from me. He finally got that I wasn’t going to carry him and decided instead of playing on the vast playground, he would try to climb any set of stairs that we came to on our walk around the building. I think there are at least a dozen! That got a little old for me, so we headed back inside. Part of his groupa was going outside so he went back out with them. Do you think he tried the laying down on the ground thing with the Nanny? Ohhhh noooo… little turkey!
John missed his flight in Germany to Chicago, so he’ll be getting home a little later than he thought (only a few hours though). Here is a pic I took of him with his CafePress T-shirt on for the trip home!
We found these packages of really thin pretzel sticks, and Timothy loves them! We ate the whole package this morning... he kept looking for more!
I am sorry Mel but that just cracked me up! Your first day without John and as little Mr. DeLlanos. It was like he knew and knew you couldn't return him, hehe..and thought..Yep..going to show my turkey side to you now, LOL!!!
ReplyDeleteI love John's shirt!!! Now that is awesome!!!! Perfect way to send him home in!!!
Poor John...that must be frustrating missing his flight :(!!! Glad he will still make it home safe and sound tonight.
Oh you all had better behave in that apartment together... You have the RR reputation to uphold!!
ReplyDeleteI loved those pretzels but they could have used a bit more salt... just saying....
Amazing what they try on us that they would NEVER do with those hawk-eyed caretakers.. Must think you are his Mama or something!!!
Oh, Mel. Your posts make us smile! We had court today and all went well!! We should be able to take our little Jackson out of his orphanage on November 9th. We are sooo excited!!
ReplyDeleteWe're thinking of you. Hope you feel okay, being by yourself. We like the pretzels, too.
ReplyDeleteTimothy is ruling the roost! I love it! Well, at least he tried to rule it for about an hour or so :) That just shows you what a smart cookie he is, testing your limits and whatnot... I hope your headache gets better and that you have a great weekend. Take care of you.... Renee
ReplyDeleteHope your headache is getting better Mel:)The pics are awesome:)! Can't wait to meet your new little man:)
ReplyDeletepraying for you without John being there, I know that's hard. At least it sounds like Timothy will keep you busy, just like any other preschool boy ;) hope your headache gets better. I love your updates, they really make my day.
ReplyDeleteDo you mean hazelnuts? We saw them there in everything! I love macadamia nuts, but hazelnuts not so much!
ReplyDeleteWe were on the same flight as your husband from Kyiv to Germany! He was behind us in line and said 'did you adopt?' and we got to talking. Then when we got on the plane he said 'good luck, have a good flight. Our son has downs and it should be an interesting flight for my wife home' and I told my sister 'I bet he's a RR dad!' so I went back and asked, and introduced myself and Alina! :) It was fun to meet him! Timothy is adorable, hope the rest of your time goes fast!
