After our paperwork, we went back to the hotel and grabbed some toys, and went back to the orphanage for our very first visit!!! We got to spend 2 hours with him(4-6pm)!! Oh my goodness!! We chose to stay inside since it has been damp and icky and cold today.
Finally, to hold him, and love on him, and make him smile, and laugh, and play with him. I know that the “visits” will get tougher as we are waiting and the days will begin to drag until we can bring him home, but the newness and the excitement are bubbling over right now… we’re in our “newborn” stage… where all you want to do is hold them, and snuggle them, and watch every move. I checked over his little hands, and his head, and looked at his teeth(which look really scraggly but are just widely spaced, but well taken care of!).
Let me just tell you, he is a smart little guy!! I took a deck of playing cards that they had given us on the one of our planes (United), and he put them all in the box that they came in, one by one. He is definitely NOT lagging in his fine motor skills! He knows how to open and close a zipped bag. We brought some color wonder markers, and he would take them out, and zip the bag, and open it, and put them back, and zip the bag… LOL At one point he was multi-tasking!! Chatting with someone on his phone, and taking the notes on his magna doodle! Hehe Starting to take after Mommy already! It was so dang cute when he was doing that, he'd use his face to press the buttons on the phone so it would keep talking to him! hehe
OH and get this… they call him “Timur”(tee-myur). Ummmm… ok… John said “Timothy” and he looked right at him!! How cool is that!!?? Most adoptive parents have to transition a new name in, or call them the name they are most used to, etc. His name is so close to what they call him that he won’t even notice! I’ve been calling him his “given” name, and he just looks right through me. No wonder! LOL
Yeah, I know, you’re all so happy for the update, blah, blah, blah… BRING ON THE PICS ALREADY!! Ok, ok, you don’t have to yell!! hehe
Here they are… for your viewing pleasure!
The first two are just shots of the playground outside
This is a mural type thing on the wall above the kids "cubbies" in the dressing room
