Only one more day of 2010...

One of the things that bugs John since we’ve been home is Timothy’s lack of affection for him.  If he needs a hug, or a boo boo kissed, or really any other need, he comes to me.  I am the one that gets the snuggles in the morning and at night before bed(well, John’s not home when he goes to bed usually lol).  If I am in the room or available I am the one that Timothy wants.   I attribute that to two major things.  First, he has only ever known women, women nurses, women doctors, women nannies, even the administrators at the baby house were women.  Occasionally I’m sure there were male visitors, but none regular enough to be of any significance.   Second, and this one isn’t really as big as the first one but, I stayed for the wait so we bonded a little more after John left to come home to be with our other kids. 

Until today.  We were sitting at the table this morning when John was leaving for work.  He kissed me, and headed for the kitchen to go out the back door.  Timothy started yelling “DAAAA” and pointing to John.  He came back, got the message that Timothy wanted a good bye kiss/hug too, gave it to him, and started to leave again.  Timothy waved, and turned back to his breakfast!!  HE initiated affection for John!!!  YAAAAY!!!!  There is NO doubt that is what he wanted because once Daddy came back and gave him his kiss & hug, he was happy!  I just looked at John and said “That is HUGE!”.   He totally agreed! 

I’ve been working on my resume’ today.  GULP!!  Boy, what a crazy task.  I am working on getting into transcription or article writing.  This would give me a chance to work from home and make more money.  I’ve joined a very helpful and resourceful group who are helping me get started, and find the “real” companies to work for/with.  I’m in the beginning phase, just checking things out, trying to find my niche.  I hope it works out. 

There has been a BIG BIG BIG blessing in the orphan world today!  The “Lost Boys” are FOUND!!  Ok, not found like our little ones, but found in the sense that God has provided a wonderful ministry for them, and a wonderful group of Christian missionaries who will go visit them, and take them things that they need, and even some treats.  You can read more on Julia's blog .

God has been working overtime this year!  What a wonderful testimony!! Praise Him for His blessings!!

A few prayer requests… The Ator family (they are suffering a horrible loss right now)… the continued ministry to the “Lost Boys”… our finances…
