Another first

Timothy has never had a problem with hugs, kisses, snuggles, and general loviness (spell check doesn’t like my made up word!).  He even offers his cheek for kisses, and if he gets hurt, he comes running and wants kisses on his owie, and he has always given really good hugs.  Of course, we are all more than happy to shower him with all the lovin that we can at every opportunity.   Sometimes he’ll even reach out to hold my hand when he’s sitting on my lap just for a little extra contact, or come up and hug our leg if we’re in the kitchen or wherever.
Today was a first though.  We were sitting at the table finishing lunch.  I told the kids to get finished because it was time for a nap.  Timothy signed “all done” and he also sort of says it too, “Ah Dah” and puts his arms out.  LOL  So, I took his plate to the kitchen, and came back with the wash cloth to wash his face (we had mac n cheese, and he wears most of the cheese hehe).  I leaned in to wash his face, and he leaned over, I thought for me to get on with it, but he grabbed my face in his cheesy little hands, and kissed me on the mouth!!  That was the very first time HE has ever kissed me!!  He even said “Mmmah”!  LOL  I hugged him and told him “Thank you, I love you so much” and he just smiled and laughed and was so proud.  Oh my heart!!  I am so blessed.
Of course, that feeling was dampened a little later by something that happened but later he did it again and made me feel all better.
Another very awesome special thing that happened this evening… Joe’s new iPod was delivered.   A very sweet and wonderful friend sent it to him after I posted about it being stolen.  Joe has been devastated about it.  I’m so proud of him though, he was so upset about it last Thursday, I was so afraid that his day would be ruined on Friday and I would have to go pick him up because he was so upset he would have a meltdown.  When that happens, no learning can happen; he just shuts down or throws a fit.  Either way, they usually send him home.  I kept waiting for the phone to ring, and when it did I looked to see if it was the school.  It never was.  He made it ALL day and was very good despite his sadness.  I was very proud of him, and told him so several times.   He is going to be so excited to get this new one.  Of course, there will be a “No taking it to school” rule in place, no matter what reward he might earn for his behavior!
There is really no word about the vote in Ukraine that was supposed to take place.  Speculation on the adoption groups is that it was postponed again; some have said until tomorrow, others have said until January.  For now, we just pray.  Pray for the people involved, pray for the families who are waiting, and pray for the children.   God is in control.
