The kids and I didn’t make it to church this morning. I was truly dragging because a certain 3 foot tall male member of our family woke up at 3 am and didn’t go back to sleep until well after 5:30. I didn’t go to bed until 1, so I was running on about 4 hours of sleep this morning. Of course, going back to bed or sleeping “in” was totally out of the question too because if one kid wasn’t yelling, another was (there really should be a volume control on these people!). I knew if I sat still, no matter how spirit filled the message was, I would be the one snoring and drooling while pastor Todd preached this morning.
So, we stayed home and I got some serious cleaning done. Bathroom is shining (including the bathtub that was pretty gross!!), the kitchen is clean and the floor is shiny(it hadn’t been mopped since before I left, I know this because I bought a new mop before we went to Ukraine, and it was still in the wrapper. John’s NOT a good mopper anyway though, and it’s not something that my Mom can do (she has had shoulder surgery recently and there’s no way she should be doing that kind of motion, even vacuuming is tough for her). I have a few more things to put away and then all of the other Christmas decorations can be set out.
I made another batch of cranberry “bliss” bars, and a batch of peanut butter balls ( they were too soft though so next time gotta add more powdered sugar I think). I even made a nice big supper (roast, potatoes, carrots). It’s nice to have everyone home for at least one meal a week. LOL
I’m hoping to work on my Christmas cards again a little bit once the littles are in bed.
