The other side of the world... day 27

Are you tired of hearing me whine about Timothy’s behavior, and his testing me?  Well, that’s ok because today, he didn’t!
I have decided that 9am is toileting time.  When I get there at 9, and open the door, I can see a little row of potties and hear all of the chatter in the bathroom.  Today, Timothy was on the one nearest the door, and the child on that one can see if someone opens the door to the groupa.   I knocked, and then opened it a bit, and when he caught sight of me, he jumped up off that little potty and almost busted his legs trying to get his little pants up!  And, at the same time he was yelling “Mama!!” and pointing at me.  They made him finish his business, and when he was done, the Nanny took him into the bedroom to help him get his outer pants on, and he kept pointing at me and saying “Mama” like, hey, can’t you see her, she’s waiting out there for me.  hehe
He came right out, and walked up the stairs with me, and sat down on the rug, and we had snack, this boy loves his yogurt!   I found out today that he also likes raisins.  Actually, I haven’t really seen anything that I’ve offered that he doesn’t like.  LOL
After snack, I saved back a part of a “biscuit” that he didn’t know I had, we played for a little while, and then when he seemed to be getting bored (he kept going over to the other family and trying to steal the little boy’s toy), I asked if he wanted to go outside.  Learning the Russian word for outside helped I think! By the way, the phonetic spelling of that word would be za predelami” I have a cheat sheet that I have in my purse with some words on it so I can at least sort of get my point across to him. hehe   He is not talking, in his language or any other.  But he does understand, very well, and will respond with “Da” or shake his head no.  He doesn’t say “Nyet”.  He does say “Mama” and “Papa” though.  woohoo!!
I’ve been telling him about Bubba, Sissy, and Olivia, and Nonnie (my Mom).  We’ll work on Aunt Amy, Uncle Jeff, Uncle Todd, Aunt Tiffany, and all of the cousins once we’re home.  Then of course there will be all of John’s side for him to meet and learn.
After we played outside for a little while, the baby house mascot showed up.  He cracks me up when this silly cat shows up!  He is so curious about it, but doesn’t really want to be near it so he will stand behind me with me between him and that cat.  LOL  It’s too funny!  He laughs and yells at it and carries on.
When it was time to go, I asked if he wanted to go to his “groupa” and he pointed to the door leading into the orphanage.  We went in, he took off his outside clothes, and we hung them all up, and he headed for the door… to go back upstairs!  LOL  I said “Nyet, groupa” and he just thought that was a bad idea.  LOL  I finally convinced him with some tickles and kisses and that last piece of biscuit though. When I take him into the groupa room, they always give him my passport to give back to me and he comes back for a few more kisses and hugs before we say “Paka”.  And all of the other little ones are all calling out “Paka Mama Paka”  hehe
So, today was a nice day.  Thankfully there are only a few more left before we don’t have to say “Paka” at the door to the groupa anymore.
After lunch of hot dogs and french fries (cooked at home!), Cathy and I headed to the outdoor market, to pick up a few things.  I ended up getting a pair of overalls for Timothy to wear on "Gotcha Day" because all of the pants I brought along are going to be too big for him, and I wanted him to have something that FITS him for just that one important day at least.  LOL
