The other side of the world... day 24

I had a pretty good visit with Timothy this morning.  He did get a little bored with me but I managed to keep his attention by chasing and tickling him.  I took a little electric keyboard, very noisy, very exciting.  LOL  We watched “Wonder Pets” on the iPod while he ate his crackers, that was a hit.  He wasn’t happy when they were gone though, he kept signing “more”.  This is a good thing, but now I need to let him know what “all gone” means.  Hehe
We went outside, and walked around at first, played on the swing, and slide, and then his groupa came out.  It was almost time for me to leave, so we walked around a little more, and then we wandered over near where they were playing in a big open area (just running around, playing in the leaves, etc).  We stayed a little away from them, and I scooped up some leaves and we tossed them in the air.  He loves that!  A few of the other kids kept wandering over by us, and they would tell them to come back, and I heard “Danil” and “Mama” in there, so I am sure they were saying that Timothy (Danil) was playing with his Mama, and to leave us alone.  Eventually though, I guess I made it obvious enough that it was really ok, and they just gave up on calling the kids back.  LOL  We were tossing leaves, and all the kids were doing it too.  Timothy & our little RR Danil were totally cracking me up.  They would throw them at each other, then team up and throw them at me.  Back and forth.  At one point little Danil was laughing so hard he just fell right over(although, I think he was a little top heavy with the coat and hat on hehe)!  I scooped him up and put him on his feet again.  Of course, he was laughing the whole time.  The other kids thought that was a riot, so pretty soon they were all throwing themselves on the ground laughing.  I glanced at the Nannies who were just rolling their eyes (and smiling too so I think it was ok).  I hope no one gets in trouble, really I was only there with all of the other kids around for about 5 minutes, but I’m telling you, they and I enjoyed it.  One of the other boys in Timothy’s groupa is on RR too(I can’t remember his name though, and am typing this offline, so I’ll try to remember to go back and look), and there is a little girl that should be.  I might mention her to our facilitator and see what she thinks.
Anyway… it was a nice morning.  After the day I had yesterday, it was a welcome treat.  @@
I took this little video last week, but couldn't get it to upload, so here you go!

  1. It brings me such joy to hear that you are playing and loving on - even for just a few minutes - the other little ones. Preparing their hearts for the day that God sends them families (oh Dear Lord - send them families) to love and play with them!! I'm grateful for every Mommy and Daddy who patted my little one on his head while playing with their chosen child. Each touch counts. Each smile matters. Rays of hope in lonely hearts.

  3. Can't wait til you get home Mel but I am glad you got to spread some joy to the other little ones. My husband is a geologist... I told him to look for a job in EE as an exploration geologist so we could move there and adopt more of the RR kiddos. Believe it or not he actually looked but I'm not so sure we're moving to EE just yet... It was sweet of him to look though. Take care and know we are thinking of you, your family and sweet Timothy.

  5. Another day down... another day closer to coming home! I am so glad you are having good weather and get to go outside. It sounds like you all had a great time with the leaves. It sure sounds like the other kiddos enjoyed playing with the leaves despite the caretakers looks. So how many more days til your 10 day wait is over?
