Last night Cathy and I walked up to the mall without the boys. Tully stayed home to help Evan with homework. I should probably sort of explain something, the “mall” here is like any other mall, lots of stores, etc, but it’s where the main grocery store is that we go to, and it’s where the free high speed WiFi is. SO… going to the mall isn’t really your typical girl’s day out shopping, buying, etc. Going to the mall for us, is generally just a trip to the grocery, and sitting in the food court mooching the WiFi. Although, I will admit, we have indulged in a Coke Light, or some French fries from McDonalds. We have to buy something to justify just sitting there with our computers, right? LOL
Ok, back to our trip. We were going to pick up a couple of things at the grocery, and Cathy needed to do something online. I tagged along because I did need to pick up a couple of things, and figured I may as well take advantage of not taking my computer and having to lug it around(I took my iPod though and checked email while we were there). Of course, once we got there, we had to shop a little, I mean, we had no one telling us to hurry up or buy me this or that. I still needed to pick up a couple of gifts for the Doctor and Orphanage director so we went into Cathy’s favorite little “scarf” store (it’s a clothing store but all she has bought there are scarves). Ohhhhh boy… we were looking around, and the sales girl pointed out 50% off signs… all over the store!! Ut oh!! I got my two gifts. Cathy on the other hand bought about 67 scarves… I think her paper boy might be getting a scarf instead of a Christmas bonus this year! hehehe She is the scarf Q U E E N!!! Just ask her, she’s proud of it! hehe I think we decided that the scarf industry and the economy here in our region is now on the upswing! Thanks to Cathy Bachman! LOL
I had another pretty good visit with our littlest boy child last evening too. He’s a little rocket though, he can move! LOL It’s funny, I can not WAIT to get him out of that baby house and show if off to anyone who will look at him, and show him the outside world! Although, I have to admit, he is looking a little scraggly… he needs a hair cut (Ohhhh Chrissssssssyyyyyy)! I broke his little heart today though, I had taken some cookie type things (nothing here is as sweet as the “cookies” at home, but they aren’t exactly crackers either), and he had eaten one, and I gave him some drinkable yogurt. He finished that and signed “more”. I got out the cookie bag and the only one in there was broken, so I got out half to give him. He actually cried! He wanted the whole thing! LOL I gave him both halves and he was happy again. Taking him out in public to a restaurant will be FUN!
Ok… better post this… pics tomorrow… or later today!
Better watch out - you may get what you wish for!! Those nannies are probably noticing that his hair is ragged... BUZZ CUT! They did that to Aaron and we about died! Yuck! LOL!! It's hard to feel sorry for you guys over there roughing it when all you talk about is shopping!! I'm SO JEALOUS! Our big shopping was the 3 times a week market... Somehow it just doesn't compare... French fries... nasty fried bread with weird stuff inside... Hmm - Which would YOU choose??
ReplyDeleteawww, sounds like a perfect day with the little man! It is so fun reading your blog. I was thinking..what would Timothy do if you didn't bring him any treats? He is going to expect treats from now until the rest of his life you realize, hehe. But knowing you the way I do, you will have no troubles doing that at all!!! :)
ReplyDeleteHey, you should buy a scarf for your mom :) LOL. I can so picture Cathy buying 67 scarfs...the store owner will remember her forever!!! *grin*!!! I cannot wait for "gotcha" day. It will make all this waiting sooo worth it!!! YAY!
Poor little boy, he probably thought you only loved him half as much, because you only gave him half a cookie. That is just too funny.
ReplyDeleteHearing these stories of Timothy, I'm getting so curious to know what Alyona is like.
I'm glad that you and Cathy have a place to hang outside of the apartment. It must be refreshing to get to go for a walk, pick up a few items (or a lot in Cathy's case - who doesn't love a sale) and get free WiFi all in one.
