A few weeks ago my friend Katrina sent me an email. Katrina is also a soon-to-be-adoptive Mommy. Her little boy is in a different country than Timothy is, but we have a lot of other things in common. I asked her today if I could share her email. Here is what she wrote:
“Mel most of the time when God speaks to me it is thru my journal writing and it will just come out on my paper and when i read it back it blows me away. i had this strong feeling i needed to write you so i just started typing and below is what came out it is for you.
Katrina
Mel the Lord wrote this for you.
Dear child I spoke and you heard me you are doing as I have asked why then would I leave you? you need to trust me for I am who I am and can do miraculous things that you may never understand. please don't be weary for I love you and I am with you, I love this child and I will bring you together in my time so just terry and trust. I love you.”
At the time it meant something so totally different than what it means to me today. When she wrote it, I was still in the midst of wondering what God was really trying to show me. His timing? His grace? The fact that *I* need to give all of *my* ideas about this journey to Him? Well, we all know how easy THAT is… NOT!!
I was thinking about this email just this morning, then of course, Katrina emailed me this afternoon and mentioned it! See… THAT is how God works!! Just when we think that it’s OUR idea, He reminds us, in any way that He can that it’s in HIS time, and it’s His idea.
That’s my bit of wisdom for today. I know you’re just dying to know what I did today, so here you go. The usual Saturday errands! Yep, there you have it. LOL
We got groceries, perused the “clearance” aisles for some smaller things for Timothy. I did get him the cutest little pair of shoes!! If they don’t fit, it’s ok, I’ll give them to the orphanage, I’m sure they’ll fit someone. I also picked up a few “travel” sized things. I’m trying to get things a little at a time so that it’s not sticker shock all at once when we are closer to travelling.
Ok… I guess I’ll get back to that homework now… yaaaawn!! hehe
