Prayer needs for Friends...

Today was all about paper. I thought when the dossier was out of here we were done with paperwork. HA! I printed out our dossier, the embassy paperwork, packing lists, and some “cheat sheets” that Nancy sent (money equivalents, some phrases that will be good to know, etc). I also printed out the next two weeks worth of homework assignments so I can get them done and submitted before we travel.

12 days… in 12 days I will be on the other side of the world. Wow…

Before I share some other adoption related stuff, will you all say a quick prayer for my friend Helen? She is dealing with quite a few life issues right now, job, family, etc. And in the midst of it all, she had to say good-bye to her sweet little Gimpy dog, he has been a loyal companion for 13+ years, this week, and the adjustment will be so hard for her.

Several of the families who are there now are having issues with paperwork, with their child (health, etc), with things going wrong back home… the one that I do have details about is the Rugg family. They are there adopting their little girl Makayla. Back home though, their little boy Jax is having some serious health issues (he is in good hands but Lacey is really upset that she isn’t there with him). Please pray for Jax, and for Lacey. For healing and peace.

Another family who hasn’t traveled yet, but have been getting updates about the little girl that they have been hoping to adopt, found out today that she is still too ill to be adopted. She needs surgery to save her life, but they can’t do the surgery for one reason or another. The family is praying to go back for her in the spring when she is well again. They are going to bring home another little girl this trip.

My friend Maria is there now. I am hoping that we’ll get to see each other while we’re both there! Wouldn’t that be great? I mean, 25+ years since we saw each other, God brings us back together through our new children, and we actually have a chance to SEE each other ½ way around the world!

I think everyone is coming to terms with the fact that we’re actually going. Attitudes seem to be better today anyway.

We’re still working on the money. We have our tickets paid for which was a good chunk. We have the facilitators fee. Those are the important things. We will still need to pay for transportation in country, our apartment/hotel room (for 6 weeks), food, Timothy’s visa, passport, and medical exam. We also need to be sure to leave money for my Mom for essentials, groceries, etc. too. I know that God is on it. He is still showing us.

Thank you Father for your blessings.
