Thursdays are a general day of excitement in our little community of Reece's Rainbow families. Thursdays are the day that the special needs dossiers are submitted (and if you didn't already know that, you need to go back and read my Thursday posts over the past year! hehe).
Finding out that you've been "submitted" is the first step in the end of the process of finally getting your child or children HOME!! Not long after dossier submission is the travel appointment, meeting your kiddo(s), and finally having court and coming home.
Yesterday didn't bring the excitement of successful submission for two of our RR families.
For the Goodmans it was a day of guarded happiness. The little girl of their hearts had heart surgery to correct some issues, and came through successfully. Because of this however, she might not be cleared for international adoption. You can visit their blog Sweet Caroline to read more about them and their sweet little one.
And, the Reynolds family received the worst news that a hopeful adoptive family ever could. Their precious little Marlena went to be with Jesus. She had to have surgery on her heart too, and was doing so well gaining weight and getting stronger that they proceeded with her surgery, and she was lost during the operation. She is safe and warm and healthy again in the arms of Jesus. They also had a little boy in their hearts that they were praying to bring home with little Marlena. John Mark. They received word yesterday as well that John Mark's parents decided they don't want him to be adopted. So, in one email, they lost BOTH of the children of their hearts. You can read more about them on their blog The Reynold's Wrap .
Please keep both of these families in your prayers. It is so difficult to lose a child that you have hoped and dreamed for without even getting to meet them.
