Happy Memorial Day

It’s Memorial Day. We think about the people who have given their lives for our freedom, and those serving now that keep us that way.

John proposed to me 18 years ago today!

Next year Timothy will be home and he will be able to celebrate his freedoms too. This makes me so happy.

Today has been a lazy day for us really. John's working. It’s been sort of cloudy, rained a little, but nothing that would ruin other’s plans for being outside.

I’m working on the laundry, I’ve picked up some donations for our next sale (more on that in a few minutes), dropped Kati off at her friend’s house, went to Walmart to get my passport photo(more on that too!), and scanned and sent some things to our stateside team to check for our dossier. We have everything that we can have DONE until we have our passports (applying for those tomorrow!!), and our home study report. I’m so happy that we’ve gotten so much of it done!! Of course, we’ll be waiting for our I 171H once we get the home study filed with the I 600a and our fingerprint appointment. I would LOVE to be “submitted” by the end of June!! 

About the next sale. I have decided that we are going to need to find a bigger place that will allow us to do our sale, and sell food, etc. Our garage is just not big enough. We could advertise it as an Adoption Benefit Sale. I wonder if we can do it at our church, or somewhere like that. I need to think about it a little.

The passport photo was FREE!! I went in and had it taken, and the wonderful woman that works in the portrait studio at Walmart said “Merry Christmas” when she handed it to me!! It was her donation to our adoption!! Isn’t that awesome!? It gives me such a good feeling in my heart when things like this happen. It’s the little things that just add up and make me believe that this is God!!

I have actually allowed myself to look at little boy’s clothing and toys in the last few days. I guess I hadn’t really been doing that because doing that would be jinxing it. I know, silly!! Anyway, I’ve grabbed a few things from the clearance racks for him. And a special teddy bear. Every little boy needs a special bear, right!?
