We took our puzzle of Timothy to church this morning. I prayed for God to give me the words to say to everyone. John asked the Pastor if we could have a few moments to talk to everyone after service. When I got up there, all of the things I had been thinking to say just sort of flew out the window. You never would have guessed I've actually been a public speaker!! LOL I talked about Timothy, and how God used an old friend from High School to show him to me. I asked first for support and prayer to help us in our journey, and when we get him home. I said that it takes a community to raise a child, and I hoped that our church would be that community, and that they would help us to teach him about the love that we have for him, and the love that God has for him. Then I asked everyone to pray about helping us financially. I'm so NOT good at asking for help. *I* am the fixer (well, usually). Asking for money is NOT an easy thing for me to do, but it's something that we need, it's something that we have to have to bring our precious little boy home to our family. I held up our puzzle, and explained that we are asking for a $5 donation for each piece of our puzzle, and that anyone that donated to Timothy's adoption fund would have their names put on a puzzle piece, and someday he would know the many people who helped bring him home. Of course, all of that sounds great, but I was fighting back the tears most of the time I was up there.
After I was done babbling our Youth Pastor came up and prayed for our family, and for Timothy, and for God's blessing on our journey. Many people came and promised to pray for us. That is one of the best promises they could have made. Several gave me checks and cash.
We "sold" 27 puzzle pieces today with promise of more soon. Thank you Lord for your continuing provision. Thank you for Timothy and our friends and family.
