I’ve also been brainstorming about fundraising today. Working out the first set of details for our big sale & auction. We have a bake sale coordinator (thanks Christy!), so that’s one less place I’ll have to be that day. hehe
I’ve emailed our Pastor about using the gym for another crop. A Mommy & Me crop! Friday will be just for the Mommies, and Saturday everyone can bring kids to scrap with them too! I know Kati will be THRILLED!! I’ll offer a lunch plate that day too for a little more $.
I’m also trying to figure out the details on doing a Lunch right after church for our church members (or whomever). We can have “carry out” plates so that they can take it home, or stay and eat there at the church. Hey, everyone likes a day without cooking, right?
I’m going to research what I need to do to offer a raffle too. Open to the public. Maybe a 50/50. Not sure yet. I wish I had a new car to give away!
I’ll admit something though. I’ve been catching up on my blog reading. It’s so encouraging to read about all of the littles that are home, or almost home. I just love reading all about how they are adjusting, and how the flight was to get home, and am trying to learn what to take, and not to bother with by reading the blogs of all of the RR families that have been there/done that. It’s also hard though. I read the posts on the email group about this or that person getting their I171h, or their dossier is in the mail, or in the country, or they have been submitted.
It’s so frustrating knowing that we can’t DO anything. Carla sent our home study and other paperwork off today to USCIS (again). There’s a new deadline to have our dossier in our facilitator’s hands. We’re just waiting for this ONE paper!! I will get it all apostilled and sent within 24 hours of having that precious piece of paper.
Please continue to pray for us. Pray for our finances, and our paperwork, and the looming deadline…
