Our trip to Ia City

I just realized I didn’t post an update on our trip to Iowa City and the Center for Disabilities and Development.   We saw a Developmental  Pediatrician.  She basically just checked Timothy all over, and got a little history on him.  They will now set up labwork, speech evaluation, psych evaluation, and x-rays.   Hopefully all of that will be on the same day, even if it takes the whole day, it’s a 90 mile trip so doing as much as possible in the same trip would be a good thing.
The excitement of the trip though was… he is 30.1 pounds, and 36 1/8 inches tall!!   He has gained *4* pounds since he’s been home!!!  And grown almost an inch too!  Woohoo!!
The labwork will be testing for Hepatitis, thyroid issues, anemia, and several other things that post-institutional kids might need to be tested for.  lol  All the rest is basically to set a baseline for where he is developmentally.
I’m going to call AEA on Monday and see if they can go ahead with whatever it is that they need to do so that we can get him started with some of the “therapies” and/or the developmental preschool program.
That’s about it!  Not really a lot to tell… yet!  hehe
One year ago tonight, I was sitting in the same recliner, reading over my FB friends posts, and I saw the photo of Timothy that is in the header of this blog.  I fell in love!  I couldn't get him out of my head... and the rest is history!!
