Just when you think things are settling down...

John called me this morning while he was out running a couple of errands.  He had had an accident.  My first question was, “What were you driving?”  When he said the van, I was numb.  The van.  The new (used but new to us) van.  The new van that we’ve only had TWO WEEKS.  The new van that we have only paid ONE payment on.  The new van that is the nicest vehicle *I* have ever had.  The new van that I have been VERY picky about, making sure no food, drinks, or icky feet go into.  The new van…
My first thought, I will admit was, “How bad is the damage?”.  Oh yeah, “Are you ok?”.  I wanted to just cry.  I didn’t though.  It’s just a van.  No one was hurt. THAT is the important thing.  The other vehicle wasn’t even moving, it was parked on the side of the street.  When he got home and I saw the damage, I wanted to throw up.  Sigh…
God was watching out for us though.  John is ok, the van is at the shop for repairs, our deductable is $500 (that we really do not have right now), and our insurance covers rental vehicle while the repairs are being done.   The damage was much worse to our van than the other vehicle.  I was so upset about it I didn’t even take pictures.  Maybe I’ll go to the shop tomorrow and see if they’ll let me take a couple.  LOL
Once again… God provides.
