Today's post is dedicated to another family. The Dobrovits family.
On January 31, 2011, Carla Dobrovits found her son Henry. No, he wasn't born to her, but she knew in her heart that he was born to be her little boy. I know that feeling very well because that is the feeling I had when I saw Timothy's picture for the first time. Her little Henry was thousands of miles away, in Ukriane, just like Timothy was. She and her family set about the task of compiling the paperwork, raising the money, and getting ready to go across the world to bring their beloved son home.
On September 9, 2011, Carla & Henry arrived. He was home. In the arms of his Mama & Papa. Welcomed to the family by his siblings, Grandparents, Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, and the rest of his family and friends. He was no longer an orphan. He was loved and cherished. He would never be alone again.
Another group of people loved little Henry Dobrovits. A big group of fellow adoptive Mamas (and Papas). We rejoice together at each milestone that our new children reach. We weep at the hurts that our precious children had to endure before we found them. We listen to the advice offered by those who have traveled a path that might be new to us in our child's healing and development. We hold each other up when we just can't understand why. We are a family. We are all joined by many commonalities, but the biggest one is our love for our children, and adoption.
Yesterday, Henry Dobrovits made another journey Home. Complications from a recent surgery that he had to repair his spine, took Henry from his family, and into the arms of Jesus. Carla and her family, our family, are devastated at this loss. The loss of a sweet little boy who was born alone into the world, but died with so many people loving him. His loss has been difficult for all of us. We all have our own questions. Why? How could this happen to the wonderful family who sacrificed so much to travel so far to bring home the son that they knew God called them to?
The Dobrovits family will have many expenses from this unexpected turn of events. Please donate using the ChipIn to the right if you can to help with sweet little Henry's medical and funeral expenses.
